The Data Window allows for the naming, declaration, and definition
of data types and data items used in the BEACON diagrams via a user-friendly
GUI. User modifiable data attributes include:
variable name data type
(9 standard types + UDT) variable
type (variable, constant, equated constant, state) fixed point
scale value minimum &
maximum values bit position
and bit word
In addition to modifying the above attributes, data may also be moved
between different scopes (global, document, and local). Within each
scope data may be further organized by Section. Creating sections
within a scope allows data to be partition within that scope.
There are 9 standard, built-in types available in BEACON and addition
types are easily created and modified using the Data Type Definitions
Editor. The Data Type Definitions Editor is accessible from the Data
Window and allows the following types to be created.

sub-types records arrays
