PCI-Engine for xPC Target

ECU developers and testers are now able to accurately stimulate and monitor the ECU by adding PCI-Engine to a standard Windows PC.

PCI-Engine for xPC Target can be used as a low-cost hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) engine simulator using Simulink and xPC Target products from The MathWorks, Inc.

At left, see the IO blocks for the PCI-Engine in Simulink.

For HIL simulation, the PCI-Engine and xPC Target are installed on a dedicated PC that includes a real-time operating system.

An engine model is developed in Simulink with connections made between the PCI-Engine Simulink I/O blocks and the engine model inputs and outputs. The PCI-Engine running on an xPC target is shown at right.

The real-time simulation is controlled from Simulink “Scopes” and MATLAB scripts provide test visualization and automation.
PCI-Engine for xPC Target includes a library of Simulink I/O blocks corresponding to each set of available engine functions to easily develop ECU test and development applications.

System Requirements:

• Windows PC
• Windows 2000/XP operating system
• 2 full-length adjacent PCI slots
• MATLAB®/Simulink®
• xPC Target and compiler
