DAS and Playback

An important piece of the ADvantage run-time architecture is its high-performance data acquisition system (DAS). The DAS performs two main services:

  • Logging deterministic, time-stamped and buffered data for analysis

  • Streaming data from the target to the host DAS server for display update

ADvantageVI provides the facilities for configuring the DAS. You could drag and drop  model variables from the Data Browser window to the DAS Streams window, or use project setup files to automate data logging.

Only variables configured for logging in the DAS streams windows are sent from the target to the host-side server. This approach minimizes the computational load placed on the target and maximizes system performance. This approach is particularly important when running detailed real-time simulations.
