Linux User Interface Processor (UIP) Upgrade

Applied Dynamics is pleased to announce the release of the Linux User Interface Processor (UIP) for the ADvantage-based RTS simulation computer. This new UIP set provides the following benefits:

Performance Improvements

  • Motorola 5500 processor provides a significant computational boost to your RTS
  • Includes Gigabit Ethernet for faster project load times, faster data logging, and reduced simulation model data capture overhead

For details of the DAS performance comparison, see   Linux Performance Comparison (195 kb).

Obsolescence

  • Removes the obsolete IBM AIX operating system as a component within the RTS real-time simulation computer and provides a long-term Linux upgrade path

Networking Standards

  • Makes your RTS compliant with Internet Protocol v6 (IPv6) networking standard, a mandatory upgrade for many government, aerospace, and defense organizations

The Linux UIP is based on Motorola’s 5500 series of single board computers and can replace any 6U or 9U RTS UIP to provide significant performance improvements, reduce obsolescence risk, become compliant with the new Internet Protocol v6 (IPv6) networking standards, and add Linux capability to your RTS.

We are also offering a combination upgrade that includes both the Linux UIP and the new CE5500 Compute Engine at a drastically lowered price.
