rtX Powertrain
The rtX Powertrain Simulator provides a standard configuration that fits most
powertrain, engine, or transmission applications. The rtX Powertrain contains
a high-performance processor for model execution and a variety of IO interfaces
including analog inputs/outputs, TTL inputs/outputs, PWM inputs/outputs, thermocouple,
crank, cam, and more.
The Powertrain comes pre-configured with signal conditioning to handle applications
up to 50V VBatt. The configuration can be extended now or later. See the table
below for the signal
functionality included with the rtX Powertrain.
See also the rtX
Powertrain data sheet in PDF (302 KB).
The heart of the rtX Powertrain is the PCI-Engine
board set. The PCI-Engine provides crank-synchronous signals such as cam and crank,
measurement of fuel and spark, two channels of selectable-transceiver CAN bus,
and a long list of other functionality. The diagram below shows input and output
signals associated with the rtX Powertrain in action.
Test project development is handled using ADvantageDE
and includes:
- Adding simulation models
- Connecting model variables to real-time signals
- Configuring device scaling and signal ranges
- Compiling the real-time project
Run-time test activities are handled using ADvantageVI and include the following:
- Simulation initialization and execution
- Visualization capability, using Altia panels and SIMplotter real-time plots
- Test scripts and application-level automation
- High performance data logging
- Real-time scripting for deterministic, repeatable tests
