NASA Ames - Pilot Control Loader System For the Vertical Motion Simulator

This paper by Rodger A. Mueller, NASA Ames Research Center discusses how some of the world’s most advanced flight simulators have moved into the future with the addition of ADI’s real-time simulation technology and ADvantage software. These flight simulators continue to use McFadden force loading systems.

Interestingly, several projects are now underway to replace McFadden force loading systems with ADI’s high-speed rtX real-time computer. The incredible performance of the rtX is enabling yet another move forward.
